Women's History Month - Client Highlights

March 08, 2026

During Women’s History Month, Knox Grove Financial is honored to spotlight remarkable local women who are not only shaping our economy and institutions but helping define the future of our community. Through this series, we celebrate entrepreneurs, authors, attorneys, educators, and visionaries, women we have the pleasure of working with, who build businesses from the ground up, lead organizations, guide clients through complex decisions, and inspire the next generation.

In every community, there are women quietly doing the hard, meaningful work that keeps families strong and futures secure. Our third blog feature spotlights one of those women, Lindsay P. Garrels — an attorney, advocate, mother, and neighbor whose career has been guided by a deep commitment to helping those who may not always know how to advocate for themselves.

Rooted in Community

I’m originally from Rhode Island; the smallest state with one of the biggest personalities. Growing up in such a tight knit community taught me the importance of service and helping your neighbor.  Even while living in Boston and Philadelphia, cities decidedly much bigger than my hometown, I continued to be drawn to connection within my community. One of my most fulfilling roles was working with legal aid and tenants in Philly, where I was able to witness firsthand the direct impact of the organization’s work on the local community.

Now, as an attorney at Stuckert and Yates in Newtown, PA, I’m fortunate to be a part of a firm that has served the local community for over 100 years. My practice focuses on family law, civil litigation, and landlord-tenant law, and I continue to build my practice in real estate law.  I’m also dedicated to helping clients through pro bono work.

Balancing a legal career with raising two daughters isn’t always easy, but it’s incredibly rewarding. I’m able to show them how helping a client through a difficult chapter - whether it be a divorce, custody dispute, or housing issue - can have a positive impact on a person’s life, and our community as a whole.

What’s one belief about money you had to unlearn?

They say that money can't buy you happiness, but it certainly can afford you the freedom to make your own decisions, live independently, and enjoy the life that you choose.  There is no shame in wanting to be successful, and it can be hard to unlearn that lesson, especially as women.

What’s one thing you wish more women understood about building wealth?

I want women to know it’s more than okay to ask questions about investing and building wealth, even if you think you should already know the answers.  Until the 1970s, women were legally denied access to credit without a husband or male co-signer; we’ve been intentionally excluded from financial systems and not taught how to navigate them. Asking questions is not a weakness—it’s a powerful step toward financial independence and the freedom to make choices on your own terms.

Meaningful change doesn’t always happen in the spotlight.  Often, it happens in courtrooms, in careful counsel across a desk, and in the daily example set for the next generation.  As someone who has always believed in advocating for those who, at times, may not know how to advocate for themselves, Lindsay is helping build a stronger, more supported community for us all.
